Good to Know Before You Go
Best visited October to June; December–January is coolest (can feel genuinely cold at night, worth packing warm clothing). Monsoon (July–September) brings the waterfalls to their fullest and the crowds thin out, but some viewpoints can fog out completely and a few trekking routes get unsafe — still worth it if you don't mind unpredictable weather. Private vehicles also pay a separate Green Tax/entry fee at the Kodaikanal municipal check-post, in addition to the highway toll.
